Motorcycle Rider Killed in Mansfield Depot Crash

State police haven't yet released the name of the motorcyclist who died Saturday in a crash in Mansfield Depot.

A motorcycle rider has died of injuries suffered Saturday night in a crash near a railroad crossing on Rt. 44, the Hartford Courant reports.

The site of the crash is in Mansfield Depot, near 70 Middle Turnpike.

The rider was headed west when the motorcycle left the side of the road, hit a utility pole and a railroad crossing pole at about 6:45 p.m. The site is about half a mile west of the intersection of Rts. 44 and 32, the Courant reported.

State police have not yet released the name of the rider, who was taken to Hartford Hospital but later died, according to the newspaper.
