Possible Bear Sighting Reported on Kozley Road

Animal Control Officer Tina Binheimer said there is no need for alarm.

A Tolland resident has reported a possible bear sighting on Kozley Road on Saturday morning, according to Animal Control Officer Tina Binheimer.

Binheimer said there is no need for alarm and that if residents see a bear, to watch from indoors. There have been no other sightings of the bear so far today, and there are no pictures of the animal. 

Binheimer added that the last confirmed bear sighting in Tolland was on Charles Street in May.

Residents can call Tolland Animal Control at 860-871-3676 or DEEP at 860-424-3333 if a bear appears aggressive. Bear sightings  can be confirmed on the DEEP website.
