The Tolland Water Commission asks residents to keep an eye out after the graffiti incident.

The Tolland Water Commission is asking residents to stay alert after a municipal water supply pump house was vandalized in mid-June.

According to a release from the commission, vandals entered a fenced off area in Riverside Park and covered the pump house with graffiti. Water supply facilities are subject to trespass laws and are "priority-protected areas" under homeland security, the release explained.

The release also said that extra security measures will be put in place.

This is really sad and pathetic! There has been so many bad things happening in Tolland and Ellington lately, which to me used to be 2 great towns! There have been car and house break-in's, mail theft, vandalism etc. I am sure it's a bunch of kids off from school with nothing better to do and their parents not caring just as long as they are out of their hair. Wake up parents and pay attention to where your kids are and what they are doing, put them to work for goodness sake! Ugh, this really urks me! We all pay a lot in taxes including the parents of these kids and they are ruining things left and right!

So are you saying that all of these bad things you see happening are the result of school age kids?

Yes, with nothing better to do. My in-laws came home to a bunch of kids going through their mail and ripping it all up. Kids were caught going through a neighboors glove box in their car one morning. So all signs point to yes!
