Task Force Leaves Taco Bell With More Junk Than Food

A Vernon man is in the hot sauce for drug violations, police said.

A Vernon man is facing several drug charges after police came out of the Vernon Taco Bell parking lot on Monday with a lot more than lettuce with the tacos. 

The fast food joint is located at 129 Talcottville Rd. - also known as state Route 83. It is knows for its massive parking lot. 

The East Central Narcotics Task Force set up a buy/bust operation in the parking lot at 2 p.m. to target who a task force news release called "a marijuana dealer" named David Cordeiro. 

Cordeiro, 30, lives at 16 Riverside Dr. in Vernon, according to a news release. 
He sold marijuana in the parking lot, and was taken into custody, according to a news release. 

Cordeiro was charged in the buy/bust operation for the sale of a controlled substance and marijuana possession, police said. 

Three separate warrants were served on Cordiero for the same charges, police said. 

The charges from the buy/bust operation came with a $10,000 surety bond and $25,000 court-set bonds were assigned to Cordeiro for each of the warrants, police said.
