The Skakel Show Comes to Rockville

Michael Skakel was in town for a court hearing.

The sidewalks around Rockville Superior Court on Wednesday became a media circus as Michael Skakel arrived for a bail hearing in his quest for a new trial for the 1975 murder of Martha Moxley.

Moxley and Skakel were neighbors in the exclusive Belle have section of Greenwich. On the night before Halloween, when she was 15, Moxley was murdered with a golf club. Skakel, a cousin in the Kennedy family, was convicted of the murder in 2002 and has been in the midst of a 20-year-to-life sentence.

Local, state and national Media lined the sidewalks both in from the the courthouse - the old Sykes School - and in the rear, where a Connecticut Department of Correction vehicle brought him to the hearing.

Vernon police were on hand for traffic control.
