Updated: Three-Car Pile Up on Route 30 Sends Two to Hospital

A three-car collision at the intersection of Crystal Lake Road and Brown's Bridge halts traffic for more than an hour Saturday afternoon. Two were transported to area hospitals.

The three individuals sustained injuries in a three-car accident at the intersection of Crystal Lake Road and Hunter Road have been identified as Tamra Daigle, 24, of Stafford Springs and Gabriela Beach, 60, and her passenger Rocco Damato, 60, both of Somers.

A third car, driven by 17-year-old Wesley Talbot of Coventry, traveled through the intersection, and struck the rear of Daigle's vehicle, according to police. Daigle's car then spun and collided with the vehicle driven by Beach, according to police reports.

Daigle was transported to Hartford Hospital with a facial laceration, while Beach and Damot were transported to St. Francis hospital, according to police.

According state police reports, Beach was transported with possible injuries, while Damato sustained injuries that were described as non-incapacitating.

Calls to both hospitals were not immediately returned.

A three-car accident closed Crystal Lake Road (Route 30) and portions of Hunter Road for more than an hour on Saturday afternoon.

Three cars collided at the intersection of Crystal Lake Road and Brown’s Bridge Road. Tolland firefighters and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene at 2:56 p.m, according to fire officials. They were assisted on site by two paramedic units. A mutual aide ambulance from Vernon was also required, said fire officials.

An ambulance transported one to Hartford Hospital and two were transported to St. Francis Hospital, said Public Information Officer Seale W. Tuttle. The remaining occupants of the vehicles involved in the accident refused treatment at the scene.

A section of Route 30 and a section of Hunter Road from Crystal Lake Road to Peter Green Road were closed for approximately an hour, said Tuttle. Traffic was re-routed.

Tolland Resident Trooper’s Office and Troop C are investigating the accident. Tolland Patch will update readers as it receives further details.
