Tolland Fire Department Brushes Up on School Bus Procedures

The exercise took place on Monday.

The Tolland Fire Department conducted a school bus safety and procedure drill on Monday night.

The drill was a cooperative effort between the department and First Student Bus Coordinator Terri Spiller, Public Safety Director John Littell said.

The Fire Department drilled on various techniques on how long it would take to remove victims from a bus.

Firefighters also had a chance to review four different types of buses since all buses are not the same in Town, Littell said.

"It was a great drill and involved many new members and everyone took something away from this," Littell said.
