Tolland Fire Department Honors Members of the Year

Awards for outstanding service to the community and the department were presented to TFD members at the 79th annual meeting of members of , held on June 3, 2012 at the Pavilion in .

Firefighter of the Year honors were awarded to Robert McNamee. Firefighter McNamee has been a member of the department since 2004.  

Stephen Gustavson, a member of the department for 2 ½ years, was named Emergency Medical Technician of the Year. 

Fire Captain John Kosciw was honored as Officer of the Year. Captain Kosciw joined the department in 2003.

Medical Lieutenant Amy Bassett was recognized for her many contributions during the last year to the overall good of the department.  Lt. Bassett, has been a member of the department for 3 years.

Explorer of the Year honors were awarded to Troy Colli.  Mr. Colli, a senior at Tolland High School, is a Lieutenant in Tolland Fire Explorer Post #40, which is sponsored by The Tolland Fire Department, Inc. 

The men and women volunteers of The Tolland Fire Department, Inc. provide firefighting, rescue and emergency medical service around the clock to more than 14,000 residents in Tolland’s 40 square mile area. The department marked 79 years of volunteer service to the Town of Tolland in March of this year.
