Douglas Racicot already had a number of roles in town.

Tolland has a new assistant director of public safety.

Douglas Racicot was sworn into the new position at the March 12 Town Council meeting. He began his probationary period on May 7 and had just completed it.

"After many years of research and analysis, including a consultant's study of emergency services and operations, the position was created," Public Safety Director John Littell said.
