Tolland Home Struck by Lightning During Thursday Storms
No one was injured when lightning hit the Slater Road house.
Thursday's stormy weather was relatively mild for most of Tolland, but there was at least one exception when a Slater Road home was struck by lightning.
Public Safety Director and Fire Chief John Littell said that first responders were called to the home after a report of smoke in the basement. Many of the house's utilities were damaged from the strike, although no one was injured, he said.
He added that the building inspector and fire marshal plan to examine the residence on Friday morning.
