Tolland Man Facing Insurance Coverage Violation

Ryan Bouchard is being charged by Vernon Police in relation to an accident he was involved in during this past October.

Vernon Police have charged a 25-year-old Tolland with failing to maintain his automobile insurance stemming from on an Oct. 27 motor vehicle accident.

Ryan Bouchard, of 460 Old Stafford Rd., was taken into custody on Monday by state police after a routine traffic stop before being transferred to Vernon police custody, according to police.

Vernon police alleged that when Bouchard was involved in the motor vehicle he presented an insurance card to the officer that was not valid, police said.

Initially, Bouchard was cited for traveling too fast for conditions when his car rear-ended another vehicle, police said. About two weeks after the accident, the investigating officer discovered that Bouchard did not have valid insurance, an arrest report indicates.

Bouchard has been released on a written promise to appear in Rockville Superior Court on May 29, police said.
