Tolland Police Blotter: April 7 - April 14

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of April 14, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

April 8

Spiros Berdebes, 40, of 78 Eaton Rd., was charged with failing to pay an infraction, based on an outstanding warrant. Eaton was released on a $75 bond and is scheduled to appear in Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville on April 19.

A tractor-trailer truck hit a car at the top of the exit 68 off ramp from Interstate 84 east as the truck attempted to take a right onto Route 195. Dang Lee, 39, of South Windsor was stopped in his 1998 Volkswagen Jetta alongside a tractor-trailer truck driven by Dennis J. Hoyaski, 62, of Kinston, NC, at the top of the ramp. Because the truck needed more space to take a right, the vehicle was in the left lane to make the right. During the action of taking the right, the truck struck the Jetta. No one was injured.

A Bloomfield man was cited for traveling too fast for conditions when he lost control of his 2001 Acura sedan and ended up in the right shoulder of Interstate 84. Trevor Ellis, 36, was traveling in the right lane of the three-lane highway when a tractor-trailer truck began to merge onto the roadway. Ellis lost control of his car when he tried to avoid the truck, doing a full 360-degree turn before ending up in the shoulder. No one was injured.
