Tolland Police Blotter: Aug. 31 - Sept. 7

The following arrest and other police activity reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of September 7, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

August 31

The manager of Tolland's reported that $596.78 went missing between the dates of August 4 and August 28, police said. According to police, the case is currently active pending an arrest warrant application for the accused, a former employee.

Police responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Route 195 and Goose Lane intersection after Baltic resident Sandra Walker rear-ended the car in front of her, which was slowing for traffic, police said. No injuries were reported. Walker was issued an infraction for following too close, according to police.

Police responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Crystal Lake Road and Hunter Road. Ellington resident Margaret Hrubala was attempting to turn left from Crystal Lake Road onto Hunter Road while Vernon resident Mary Nicholas was trying to turn left from Hunter Road onto Crystal Lake Road, police report. No injuries were reported.

Police responded to a two-car accident on I-84 in Tolland when West Suffield resident Stephen Rusczyk rear-ended the car of Tolland resident Frank Huschle, as they were traveling in the left lane of the highway, police said. No injuries were reported. Rusczyk was issued a written warning for following too close, according to police.

Police responded to a three-car accident on Route 195 Mansfield involving a Tolland resident. According to police, Tolland resident Adam Dassouki was driving south on Route 195 when he struck a car stopped at a traffic light, which then hit the car in front of it. None of the drivers were injured, although one passenger was taken to Windham Hospital, police said. Dassouki was issued an infraction for following too close, police report.

September 2

Stephen Bubloski, 49, of 18 Burbank Road in Tolland was charged with disorderly conduct: threatening and criminal violation of a protective order: threatening or trespassing, according to police. Bond was set at $2,500.

Police responded to a two-car accident on I-84 in Tolland after Storrs resident Nancy Sheehan drifted into another lane and made contact with another car, police said. According to the police report, Sheehan said she received a phone call and looked down to see who was calling her, when the car drifted. She was issued a written warning for failure to maintain lane, police said.

September 3

Jason Newbury, 41, of 64 Sherry Circle in Tolland, was charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call and third-degree assault, according to police. Bond was set at $2,500.

Police responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Route 195 and Route 74 in Tolland. According to police, Tolland resident Karen Rozie was stopped at the intersection when Tolland resident Jacqueline Smith made minor contact with the bumper of Rozie's car. No injuries were reported. Smith was issued a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, police said.

Police responded to a one-car accident on I-84 in Tolland after New York resident Morufudeen Olowu veered off the road and struck a grass embankment, causing his car to roll over several times, police said. According to police, he was taken to Rockville Hospital with minor injuries.

September 5

Ann Murray, 53, of 1380 Tolland Stage Road in Tolland, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive right, according to police. Police said she was stopped after being seen driving erratically on Route 74 in Tolland.

September 6

Matthew Bray, 31, of 69 University Road, Apt. 2, in Brookline, MA, was charged with breach of peace, according to police. Police report that Bray was intoxicated and exposing himself at the Subway in Tolland. According to the police report, he was holding an unopened bottle of beer, was not wearing underwear and was being "uncooperative." He was placed under arrest after a minor altercation, police said.

Zachary David Savage, 22, 45 High Ridge Drive in Tolland was charged with insurance coverage fails minimum requirements, evading, operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive right, according to police. Police report that Savage crashed into a stone wall on Doyle Road and evaded the scene of the accident. In a separate press release, police said that Savage also struck a wire rope guard rail on Route 195 in Mansfield and also evaded the scene.

Police responded to a two-car accident involving Tolland resident Rose Kearns-Davis after another driver rear-ended her car when she was stuck in traffic on I-84 in Vernon, according to police. No injuries were reported.
