Tolland Police Blotter: August 13 - 19

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of August 18, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

August 13 

Police responded to a two-car accident involving three Tolland residents on Route 195 in Mansfield. Erin Rhodes of Tolland, traveling with two other Tolland residents, was stopped at a red light on Route 44 where the road intersects with Route 195, when the car in front of her reversed and collided with her vehicle. The driver, a juvenile from Bolton, had accidentally placed the car into reverse. No injuries were reported, and the Bolton resident was issued a written warning for unsafe backing.

Police are investigating a case on Baxter Street. State police responded to an alarm at 93 Baxter St. and found a broken, rear basement window. The homeowner reported that nothing was missing.

August 15

Police responded to a one-car accident on I-84 in Tolland after California resident Lincoln Godfrey lost control of his car on the wet roadway and struck the concrete barrier on the highway’s center median. The car continued to travel across all three lanes of traffic, coming to a stop on the right shoulder of the highway. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle was towed from the scene. Godfrey was issued a written warning for traveling too fast for the conditions.

August 17

Kathleen Marek, 40, of 20 Park St., Apartment D in Stafford, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, failure to drive in the proper lane and cell phone use while driving. Marek was stopped on I-84 in Tolland and subjected to field sobriety tests.
