Tolland Police Blotter: August 17 - 24

The following arrest and other police activity reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of August 24, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

August 17

Police responded to a motorcycle accident on Burbank Road after Tolland resident Joseph Matteis collided with a guardrail when making a right from Tolland Stage Road, police said. Police report that he was ejected from his motorcycle and was taken to Hartford Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and that his motorcyle was towed.

August 18

Police report that an unknown white male and an unknown white female stole four bottles of a top-shelf scotch from at 670 Tolland Stage Road on August 13. The suspects were seen committing the crime on surveillance video, police said. The scotch is worth $600, according to the release.

Police report that the home at 52 Rolling Meadow Drive was burglarized between August 11 and August 18. Police said that jewelry, a Playstation, XBox, cigar humidor and cigar were taken from the residence. According to police, forced entry was made from the rear lower level window. The case is under investigation.

August 20

Police responded to a two-car accident on Hartford Turnpike after Stafford Springs resident Andrew Beaudry rear-ended the car driven by Tolland resident Douglas King while King was stopped for a red light, according to police. No injuries were reported.

Police responded to a one-car accident on Mountain Spring Road when Tolland resident Alexandra Mazzola lost control of her car while driving around a curve and hit a tree, police said. Police report that she was issued an infraction for failure to maintain lane.

August 22

Police responded to a three-car accident in Ellington involving Tolland resident Barbara Buckley. Police report that Buckley was stopped in the left turn lane of Lower Butcher Road with another car stopped behind her when a third vehicle, driven by East Windsor resident Laurence Adams,  rear-ended the second, causing a chain of collisions. Buckley was taken to Rockville Hospital, police said, and all three cars were towed.
