Tolland Police Blotter: August 24 - 31

The following arrest and other police activity reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of August 31, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

August 25

Tyler Canfijn, 24, of 80 William Street in East Hartford was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and reckless driving, according to police. Police were running a sobriety checkpoint near Route 195 and Goose Lane when Canfijn was seen pulling out of traffic, driving over the curb and up an embankment at a fast speed, police said. He then passed three vehicles on the left who were stopped at a light and turned onto I-84 before he was pulled over, according to police. 

August 26

Police responded to a one-car accident on I-84 in Tolland. A minor from Massachusetts was driving in the left lane when she started to veer in the grassy center median, came back into the left lane and overcorrected, causing the car to veer into the jersey barrier on the center median, police said. The car rolled over and the driver was ejected from the vehicle, police report. Willington Volunteer Ambulance took the driver to Rockville Hospital for possible internal injuries and lacerations, according to the press release. She was later transferred to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar, police said. The car was towed from the scene. Any witnesses to the accident or residents with information are asked to call Troop C at 860-896-3200.

Anthony Razzano, 55,  of 48 Kozley Road in Tolland was charged with second-degree failure to appear, according to police.


August 29

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 74 in Tolland after Tolland resident Dennis Leal attempted to make a left turn onto Route 74 from the intersection of Old Cat Hole Road, according to police. Police said that Leal attempted to turn while Tolland resident Marilyn Dwire was traveling west on Route 74, as well. No injuries were reported.

August 31

Emmanuel Dejesus, 20, of 35 Whitmore Street in Hartford was charged with sale, use and possession of fireworks, third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and conspiracy (felony-Class A), according to police. Police report that Dejesus was stopped in a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Routes 30 and 31 and was found with several stolen items from cars, including GPS units, credit cards and a digital camera. Police said that the items, which were visible in the back seat of the car, were linked to several vehicles in Ellington. Bond was set at $5,500.

 

Federico Figueroa-saez, 22, of 1874 Broad Street in Hartford was charged with sale, use and possession of fireworks, third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and conspiracy (felony-Class A), according to police. Bond was set at $4,000. Police report that Figueroa-saez was stopped in a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Routes 30 and 31 and was found with several stolen items from cars, including GPS units, credit cards and a digital camera. Police said that the items, which were visible in the back seat of the car, were linked to several vehicles in Ellington.

 

Stephanie Morales, 18, of 551 Ellis Street in New Britain was charged with sale, use and possession of fireworks, third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, credit card theft by transfer and conspiracy (felony-Class A), according to police. Police report that Morales was stopped in a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Routes 30 and 31 and was found with several stolen items from cars, including GPS units, credit cards and a digital camera. Police said that the items, which were visible in the back seat of the car, were linked to several vehicles in Ellington. Bond was set at $4,000.
