Tolland Police Blotter: August 26 - September 1

August 27
Shannon Marvel, 25, of 23 Nollet Rd., Apartment 3, in Mansfield was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane. Marvel was stopped near Exit 69 on I-84 in Tolland.
Police are investigating a complaint of criminal mischief and vandalism at 41 Old Cathole Road in Tolland.

Tolland resident Gavin Larsen was involved in a one-vehicle accident in Willington. Larsen was traveling on Route 74 in Willington when his car veered off the road’s right shoulder, striking a guard rail and telephone pole. The car’s front end was severely damaged. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported. Larsen was issued an infraction for failure to maintain the proper lane.
August 30

Tolland resident Diane Tyler was involved in a two-car accident on Route 74. Tyler struck the rear end of a Moosup resident’s vehicle and evaded the scene. The struck driver attempted to follow Tyler, but lost sight of her car. Tyler was located at her home on Charter Road and issued a misdemeanor for evading and following too closely. No injuries were reported.
September 1
Scott D. Cady, 47, or 11 Candlewood Dr. in Tolland was charged with two counts of having an unlicensed dog/failure to buy a license when impounded. Cady turned himself in at Troop C headquarters and was released on $150 cash bond.
