Tolland Police Blotter: August 9 - 17

The following arrest and other police activity reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of August 17, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

 

August 11

Kevin Joseph, 25, of 1960 Coney Island, Avenue 3, Brooklyn, NY, was charged with illegal sale of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance: less than four ounces of marijuana and conspiracy, according to police. Police report that Joseph was charged during a vehicle stop on I-84 in Tolland. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 11, one-ounce individually packaged "food saver" bags filled with suspected marijuana, police said. 

Tony Sok, 26, of 360 Pride Street in Westbrook, ME was charged with failure to display/return/improper use/obstruct/damage plates, drug paraphernalia, illegal sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance: less than 4 ounces of marijuana, according to police. Police report that Sok was charged during a vehicle stop on I-84 in Tolland. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 11, one-ounce individually packaged "food saver" bags filled with suspected marijuana, police said. 

August 13

Martina Angela Ocasio, 28, no address given, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, according to police. Police said that Troop C received numerous calls reporting a car driving erratically on I-84. Ocasio began to drive on the center grass median near exit 68 in Tolland and also drove slowly back and forth across the road, according to police. She was stopped on the exit 69 off ramp, police said.

Police responded to a one-car accident on Charter Road when Tolland resident Ethan Sikoski lost control of his car and struck a tree, police said. He was taken to Rockville Hospital for injuries, and the car was towed from the scene, according to police.

August 15

Police said they are investigating a break-in at 12 Dockerel Road. According to police, a 50-inch Panasonic TC-P50X1 Plasma HDTV, Bose wave radio/CD player, $50 in U.S. coins, $25 in Canadian currency and a personal check book were taken from the residence between August 10 and 13. Anyone with information is asked to call Troop C at 860-896-3200.

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 195 in Tolland when Manchester resident Lakeisha Barno rear-ended the car in front of her, which was slowing to allow another driver to make a left turn, police said. She was issued an infraction for failure to follow at a reasonable distance, according to police.

August 16

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 74 in Tolland after Pomfret Center resident Wayne Therrien rear-ended a car stopped at a red light, police report. Therrien was issued an infraction for following too close, police said.
