Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 195, after a Tolland minor struck the car traveling in front of him, police said. The car was driven by Tolland resident Andrew Winters who was slowing for traffic, according to police. No injuries were reported. The minor was issued a written warning for following too close, police said.
A 17-year-old, male juvenile was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct: no fight/no threat/no obstructing and interfering with an emergency call, according to police. Police charged the youthful offender after responding to a 911 hang up call on Sugar Hill Road, police said.
Police responded to 106 Mile Hill Road where officers found a tan van that had been spray painted on its rear, left and right sides. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call state police at 860-896-3200.
Brad Murphy, 31, of 44 Stephanie Lane in Tolland was charged with traveling at an unreasonable speed and operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, according to police. Police said officers were dispatched to a one-car accident at 52 Kate Lane, after which Murphy was charged.
Clinton Files, 47, of 106 Fox Ridge Lane in Tolland was charged with traveling unreasonably fast for the conditions and operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, according to police.
Joel Javanainen-Brown, 19, of 220 Kozley Road in Tolland was charged with possession out of container, use of drug paraphernalia (3 counts), possession of controlled substance: narcotics, possession of controlled substance: hallucinogenic substance/4 oz marijuana, possession of controlled substance: non-narcotic/less than 4 ounces of marijuana, according to police. Police said that officers discovered 18 bags of heroin, 10 grams of marijuana and other narcotic paraphernalia in Javanainen-Brown's possession during a vehicle stop on Route 195 in Mansfield.
Erin Bartlett, 25, of 207 Orcuttville Road in Stafford Springs was charged with
operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to driven in the proper lane, according to police. Bartlett was stopped on I-84 in Tolland, police said.
Andrew Picard, 25, of 132 Shenipsit Lake Road in Tolland was charged with promoting a minor in an obscene performance, importing child pornography material and first-degree illegal possession of child porn, according to police. The Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit and Department of Homeland Security (Hartford) received a search and seizure warrant for 132 Shenipsit Lake Road, which was executed on Jan. 23, police said. Picard admitted to receiving and sending the images using Instant Messenger programs, the police report said. He had over 150 child pornographic images on his computer hard drive, according to police. Bond was set at $100,000.
Delani Gomez Duarte, 27, of 780 Lindley Street in Bridgeport was charged with operation of motor vehicle when registration or license is refused/suspended/revoked, reckless driving, evading responsibility and breach of peace: non-assaultive, non-threatening, according to police. Duarte was involved in a minor accident with another car on the I-84 westbound onramp on Route 195 in Tolland, when Duarte drove away, police said. According to the police report, the victim followed Duarte on I-84, where she was traveling at a high speed and pointed an object at the victim that he believed was a shotgun from the way Duarte was holding and pointing the object. The object turned out to be a vehicle window shade covering, police said.
Selena Ham, 27, of 46 Faith Circle in Manchester was charged with sixth-degree larceny, according to police. Police said loss prevention staff saw Ham stealing four cans of baby formula from the Tolland Big Y.
