Tolland Police Blotter: Jan. 26 - Feb. 1

The following arrest and other police activity reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of February 1, 2013. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

January 26

Jose Diaz, 25, of 26 Freeman Street in Tolland was charged with operation of motor vehicle when registration or license is suspended/refused/revoked and speeding infraction, according to police. Police report that Diaz was stopped on I-84 in Vernon.

Bryan Bennett, 21, of 37 Charter Oak Avenue in East Haven was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and improper number of headlights, according to police. Bennett was stopped on Route 195 in Tolland, police said.

Alexander Cooper, 22, of Millerton, New York was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive right, according to police. Cooper was stopped on Route 195 in Tolland, police said.

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 31 when Tolland resident Kelly Hall lost control of her car while driving around a curve, police said. Hall's car traveled into the opposite lane, striking another vehicle, according to police. No injuries were reported. Hall was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for the conditions, police report.

January 30

Police responded to a two-car accident on Mile Hill Road when Coventry resident James Vernon struck the car of Tolland resident Thomas Rhodes, who had slowed to make a left turn, police said. No injuries were reported, and Vernon's car was towed. Vernon was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for the conditions, according to police.
