Tolland Police Blotter: Jan. 4 - 11

The following arrest and other police activity reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of January 11, 2013. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

January 4

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 195. Tolland resident Phillip Gawronski was exiting the Gulf Station when his car collided with that of Tolland resident Alia Zahid, police said. No injuries were reported. Gawronski was found at fault for failure to grant right of way, according to police.

James Dutton, 23, of 33 Bennett Drive in Tolland was charged with failure to pay or plead, according to police. 

Diane Brown, 38, of 7 Baxter Street in Tolland was charged with disorderly conduct: no fighting/no threatening, according to police. Police responded to a residential address in Tolland and charged Brown after a thorough investigation, the release said.

Jay McCollum, 37, of South Street in Coventry was charged with disorderly conduct: no fighting/no threatening and interfering with an emergency call, according to police. Police responded to a residential address in Tolland and charged McCollum after a thorough investigation, the release said.

Police responded to a one-car accident on Route 74 when Tolland resident Eric Sentochnik swerved to avoid a deer in the road, but lost control of his car, hitting the deer and a guardrail, police said. No injuries were reported.

Erik Hansen, 29, of 74 Bicknell Road in Ashford was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane, according to police. Police report that a witness saw Hansen driving erratically on Old Post Road.
