Tolland Police Blotter: July 13 - 20

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of July 20, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

July 16

Police responded to a one-car accident after Vernon resident Joshua Gluz attempted to turn right off of Mile Hill Road and hit a roadway sign, police report. Gluz's passenger, a Tolland minor, was transferred to Rockville General Hospital for evaluation, police said. Gluz was issued an infraction for improper right turn, according to police.

Police responded to a two-car accident on I-84 in Tolland after Massachusetts resident Cristian Santiago rear-ended another car, police report. He was found at fault for failure to drive in the proper lane, police said.

Police responded to a two-car accident at the intersection of Old Post Road and Mountain Spring Road after a UPS truck flipped onto its side after being struck by another car, police report. UPS driver and Tolland resident Randy Collins was taken to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar. .

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 30 after West Hartford resident Shlomit Bittan tried to turn right from Browns Bridge Road onto Route 30 and struck another car, police said. Bittan was taken to Johnson Memorial Medical Center for facial cuts, while the other car's occupants went to Rockville Hospital for evaluation, police report. According to police, Bittan was issued an infraction for a stop sign violation.

Frank Sorgio-gionfriddo, 18, of 179 Oakland Street, Apt. A, in Manchester was charged with 12 counts of third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle, two counts of fourth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle, ten counts of sixth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle and second-degree failure to appear, according to police. The charges stem from incidents on Reed Road and Carter Drive, police said.

Dustin Luginbuhl, 18, of 18 Brockway Road in Ellington was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, stop sign violation, motor vehicle license violations and illegal purchase of liquor, according to police. Police report that Luginbuhl was stopped near Tolland Stage Road and Burbank Road.

Jaycee Taylor, 20, no address given, turned herself in on an outstanding warrant for larceny by possession, according to police. The incident occurred on Hilltop Road in Tolland, police said.

July 18

Khary Harris-bey, 18, of 77 Rachel Road, Apt. E in Manchester was charged with 12 counts of third-degree burglary from a motor vehicle, two counts of fourth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle and ten counts of sixth-degree larceny from a motor vehicle, according to police. The charges stem from incidents on Reed Road and Carter Drive, police said.

Jesse Catlin, 30, of 222 Burns Hill Road in Wilton, NH was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use with cannabis substances less than .5 ounces, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, interfering with an officer: non-assaultive and possession of less than one-half ounce of a cannabis substance, according to police. Bond was set at $50,000, police said. The car Catlin was traveling in was stopped on I-84 in Tolland, police said.

Erik Chappelle, 30, of 267 Lincoln Place, Apt. 8C in Brooklyn, NY was charged with two counts of narcotics kept only in original container, drug paraphernalia, and possession of less than one-half ounce of a cannabis substance, according to police. Bond was set at $20,000, police said. The car Chappelle was traveling in was stopped on I-84 in Tolland, police said.

Emily Craven, 29, of 377 Rector New York, NY was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use with cannabis substance less than .5 ounces, according to police. The car Craven was traveling in was stopped on I-84 in Tolland, police said.

Brian Kuba, 32, of 55 Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie, NY was charged with failure to have tail lamps lit and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use with cannabis substance less than .5 ounces, according to police. The car Kuba was traveling in was stopped on I-84 in Tolland, police said.
