Tolland Police Blotter: July 8 - 15

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of July 15, 2011.

July 8

Police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 74. A Virginia resident was traveling on Route 74, and while attempting to turn left in rainy conditions, the driver lost control of the car. The vehicle struck the guardrail and traveled across the road, coming to rest against a tree. The driver was uninjured and the car was towed from the scene.

July 9

William Depeau, 22, of 127 West Stafford Road, Stafford was taken into custody on 13 separate warrants, issued by the Rockville Superior Court on May 25, 2011. Depeau is charged with failure to appear in the first degree. Bail was set at $195,000.

A Tolland resident was involved in a one-car accident in Mansfield. Ryan Gosse was traveling on Codfish Falls Road when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree. No injuries were reported and the car was driven from the scene

A Tolland resident was involved in a two-car accident on Route 74. Amy Welch of Old Post Road in Tolland, was traveling on Route 74 when she struck a car driven by an East Hartford resident turning onto Route 74 from the Exit 69 off-ramp of I-84. No injuries were reported.

July 10

Troopers responded to a motorcycle crash on Route 74. David Woodmansee was traveling on Route 74 when his vehicle traveled off the right shoulder and struck an embankment near the intersection of Evergreen Drive. Woodmansee was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported to Hartford Hospital via Life Star. The accident is still under investigation.

July 11

William L. Edwards, 21, of 84 Autumn Drive, Tolland was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and second-degree failure to appear. Bail was set at $5,500.

July 12

Lance Roberts, 58, of 170 Hurlbut Road, Tolland was charged with two charges of first-degree larceny and accessory/criminal liability for acts of another. Roberts was arrested after he turned himself in at Troop C headquarters. Bond was set at $150,000.

Police responded to a one-car accident on Route 195 in Tolland. An Ellington resident was traveling on Route 195 when the car veered off the roadway and struck a wire rope guardrail. The car went down an embankment and rolled over before coming to a rest. The driver was taken to Rockville Hospital for injuries.

July 15

Thomas J. Bane, 26, of 74 Plains Road, Tolland was charged with speeding, operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive right. Bane was arrested after he was observed driving erratically on Route 32 in Mansfield. Bail was set at $500.
