Tolland Police Blotter: June 15 - 22

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of June 22, 2012. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

June 15

Police are investigating a reported larceny on Old Post Road. According to police, a GPS unit, cell phone charger and ski goggles were taken from an unlocked car at 604 Old Post Road between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Friday morning. Anyone with any information can call Troop C at 860-896-3200 ext. 8096.

Police report that Tolland resident Audra Blinn was involved in a two-car accident in Ellington. According to police, an Ellington resident was trying to turn left from Pease Farm Road onto Route 83 when a Manchester resident driving on Route 83, with whom Blinn was traveling, struck the car. The Manchester resident and Blinn were transported to Rockville General Hospital for evaluation, police report.

June 16

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 195 near Baxter Street in Tolland when Mansfield Center resident John Douglas struck the car traveling in front of him as the driver slowed for traffic, according to police.  No injuries were reported, and Douglas' vehicle was towed, police said. Douglas was issued an infraction for following too close, police report.

Roberto Ruben, 45, of 99 Old Kent Road in Tolland was issued an infraction for operating without a license, police report. Ruben was backing out onto Mile Hill Road when his car was struck by another vehicle, according to police. No injuries were reported, and both cars were towed by Bill's Auto.

Clifton Labrec, 21, of 95 Grove Street in Vernon was issued misdemeanor summons for operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and traveling too fast, police report. According to police, Labrec struck Ruben's car as he was backing out onto Mile Hill Road. No injuries were reported. Both cars were towed by .

June 17

Police responded to a one-car accident on Route 74 when Tolland resident Francis Conlombe traveled onto the left shoulder of the road and struck a tree, police report. Conlombe was issued a written warning for failure to maintain established lane, according to police.

Rashid Hamid, 71, of 164 Dockerel Road in Tolland was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, failure to drive in proper lane and risk of injury to a child, police report. According to police, Hamid was stopped on I-84 eastbound in Vernon. Police said that Hamid's underage son was in the car with him.

June 19

Greggory Johnson, 49, of 463 Turnpike Road in Ashford was charged with threatening and breach of peace, according to police. Police report that Johnson was charged after a road rage incident on I-84 in Tolland.

Woodrow Williams, 30, of 24 Eastford Street, Apartment 3 in Hartford was charged with improper use: marker/license/registration, failure to display/return/improper use/obstuct/damage Plates, insurance coverage fails minimum requirements and failure to have tail lamps, according to police. Police report that Williams was seen traveling on Route 195 in Tolland without a front license and without an illuminated rear license plate. 

June 20

Police responded to a two-car accident involving Tolland resident Briana Mesnil after Mesnil collided with a car stopped at the intersection of Route 30 and Sand Hill Road, police report. The driver of the struck car was taken by Tolland Ambulance to Rockville Hospital for minor neck and back pain, police report.

June 21

Frederick Krampitz, 37, of 14 Tolland Stage Road in Tolland, was charged with disorderly conduct, according to police. Police responded to an altercation at Tolland Stage Road, after which Krampitz was charged, police report.

Linda Sherman, 48, no address given, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, according to police. Police responded to an altercation at Tolland Stage Road, after which Sherman was charged, police report.

Bryan Rioux, 27, of 109 Old Kent South Road in Tolland was charged with breach of peace:non-assaultive and non-threatening and second-degree harassment: non-threatening, according to police. Police report that Rioux was arrested while police were investigating a reported assault in Stafford.

A Tolland resident was involved in a one-car crash in Ashford, police report. According to police, Priscilla Smith  was traveling on Route 44 in Ashford when she veered into the shoulder and hit a utility pole. She was taken to Rockville Hospital, and her car was towed due to damage, police said. Smith was issued an infraction for a restricted turn, police report.
