Tolland Police Blotter: March 25-31

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of April 1, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

On March 31, emergency personnel responded to the high school for a call involving an 8-month-old child who had fallen off a counter while visiting Tolland High School with his or her parents.

Tolland fire department personnel treated the unidentified child, who was then taken by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital, according to an e-mail from department Chief John Littell.

State police from the Troop C barracks in Tolland assisted with the call.

March 25

Shortly before 5 p.m. a car driven by Marco Sartoni, 44, of 1269 Tolland Stage Rd., struck a Tolland Public School bus traveling along Old Post Road near Tolland Green. No students were on the bus and the driver, Tammala M. Aviles, along with two children with her, was not injured. Sartoni was charged with following too closely, driving without insurance and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Eugenia Lysik of 259 Grahaber Dr. was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reckless driving while traveling on Interstate 84 in Vernon.  Lysik was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville on April 12.

March 27

Masood Fariduddin, 24, of Wethersfield was charged with improperly passing on the right when his Toyota Corolla struck a car driven by Kimberly Rogers, 39, of 37 Hidden Valley Rd., Tolland, as she attempted to make a wide right onto Mountain Spring Road.

John James Carras, 34, of 95 Skyline Dr., East Hartford, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to grant the right of way.

State Police at Troop C in Tolland received a complaint from a woman that her ex-boyfriend had threatened her over the phone. Police are investigating the incident.

March 28

A Stafford Springs man was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to maintain the proper lane for colliding with a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 84 east near exit 67. Christopher C. Ladd, 36 of 27 Clearview Dr. was traveling in the left land of the highway when he lost control of his 2007 Subaru Impreza and crossed first into the grass median and then back across the highway and collided with a tractor-trailer driven by Yosef Mustafanos of Carson City, NV. No one was injured in the accident. Ladd was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville on April 13.

March 30

Andre D. Linton, 18, of 90 Baxter St., Tolland, was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor for having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl. He was held on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Tolland County Superior Court in Rockville on April 17. 

March 31

Justin Hawker, 29, of Shelton was charged with misrepresenting or impersonating a home improvement contractor based on an investigation by the state Attorney General’s office.
