May 23

Peter Henry Griffiths, 22, of 109 Dockerel Road in Tolland was charged with failure to wear safety belt in front seat and second-degree failure to appear, according to police. Police report that Griffiths was stopped for a safety belt violation in Vernon and was found to have an active warrant.

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 30 at the intersection with Industrial Park after a motorcycle failed to slow enough for traffic and hit the car traveling in front of it, according to police. The motorcycle driver, West Haven resident Bruce Ratti, fell off of his bike and was taken to Hartford Hospital, police report. Ratti was issued an infraction for following too close, according to police.

Police responded to a one-car accident on Old Stafford Road after Stafford resident Carrieann Kellner lost control of her car while driving on a curve, hitting several small trees, according to police. No injuries were reported, and towed the car. Kellner was issued an infraction for failure to drive right, police report.

Police responded to a two-car accident on Route 30 involving two Tolland residents. According to police, Vernon resident Hwang Kim was driving on Route 30 near Eaton Road, when Tolland residents Silvain and Linda Schulze pulled out of a driveway. Kim lost control while trying to avoid the car and hit a wire rope guardrail, causing the car to roll over onto its passenger side, police report. According to police, Kim and a passenger were taken to Rockville Hospital.

May 29

Tolland resident James O'Donnell was involved in a two-car accident in Stafford, according to police, after O'Donnell backed up into a vehicle that was behind him, causing minor damage. No injuries were reported.
