Tolland Police Blotter: Sept. 30 - Oct. 7

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of October 7, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

September 30

Two Tolland residents were involved in a crash on Route 74 at Tolland Green. According to police, Scott P. Gorman was following Patricia Soucy and struck Soucy’s car. Police report that Gorman was found at fault for following too close. No injuries were reported.

October 1

Ronald Rudeen, 44, of 169 Vernon Ave., Vernon was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct after an incident at Bald Hill Road in Tolland. Police report that Rudeen was in a verbal argument about a future custody agreement when he threw a packaged tool, which hit the other party in the nose.

October 2

Police are investigating the theft of a Husqvarna chain saw from the barn on the property of 99 Crystal Lake Road. The case is still under investigation.

Police responded to a one-car accident on Route 195 near Baxter Road when a Florida resident veered to the left of the road and hit the metal guiderail. No injuries were reported. Police report that the driver was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for the conditions.

October 5

Nicholas W. Kostant, 24, 64 Hilltop Rd. in Tolland was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane.

October 6

Paige Breton, 23, of 25 Curtis Dr. in Tolland was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane.
