Tolland Police Blotter: September 15 - 23

The following arrest reports, provided by Connecticut State Police Troop C in Tolland, are accurate as of September 23, 2011. Items on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.

September 15

Police are investigating a car theft after Anthony Road resident John R. Bock reported that his red 1995 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from his driveway, according to the police report. Police ask anyone with information to contact Troop C headquarters or the Tolland Resident Trooper’s Office. 

September 16

Police responded to an accident on Route 195 in Tolland. Police report that Tolland resident Ashleigh Pellerin rear-ended the car in front of her. The struck car’s passengers were taken to Windham Hospital for minor injuries.

Police responded to an accident near Goose Lane on Route 195. Vernon resident Ydairis Correa failed to stop when the car in front of the vehicle halted for traffic, causing a collision. Correa was issued an infraction for failure to maintain a safe distance. Tolland residents Kevin Deroy and Gregory Matthews were traveling in the struck car. No injuries were reported.

Several Tolland minors were involved in an accident on Route 74 near Old Cathole Road. As one car was turning left onto Route 74 from Old Cathole Road, a second vehicle traveling on Route 74 struck the turning car. No injuries were reported.

September 17

Michael Griffin, 40, or 2111 Englewood St., Kannapolis, NC was charged with breach of peace after an argument that took place on Hartford Turnpike in Tolland. Bond was set at $500.

Elisabeth Jensen, 47, of 268 Hartford Turnpike, Apartment E11 was charged with disorderly conduct after an argument that took place on Hartford Turnpike.

Tyler Reilly-Evans, 22, of 720 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane. Reilly-Evans was stopped in Tolland on I-84. Bond was set at $500.

September 18

Police responded to a three-car accident on I-84 in Tolland. North Branford resident Dominick Sharretto was driving on I-84 when a large piece of iron fell from the load on his car and landed in the center and left lanes of the highway. The iron struck two other cars. Sharretto was issued a warning for operating with an unsecured load. No injuries were reported.

September 19

Martin Brousseau, 49, of 42 Bailey Woods Rd. in Brooklyn, CT was charged with second-degree forgery. Brousseau was arrested at Troop C headquarters.

Michael S. Baker, 23, of 249 Preston St. in Windsor, was charged with second-degree failure to appear. Baker turned himself in at Troop C headquarters.

September 20

Police responded to a one-car accident on I-84. An Ashford resident struck a section of tire from a tractor trailer. No injuries were reported.

Brian M. Moore, 34, of 318 Leonard Rd. in Stafford, was charged with the manufacture or possession of burglar’s tools, simple trespass, third-degree criminal mischief and criminal attempt. Police report that while responding to an alarm at the Mr. Sparkle car wash in Tolland, Moore was seen leaving the area. Police said that they found Moore to be in possession of burglary tools that matched up to damage done to a change machine.

September 23

Ryan D. Collard, 21, of 108 Debora Dr. Coventry, was charged with traveling unreasonably fast and driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol. Collard was arrested after being stopped by police near Goose Lane in Tolland.
