In this age of technology -- why are business owners using such inferior video equipment????

Because excellent equipment is expensive.

They also couldn't fix the aspect ratio before releasing the photos? I brought each one into Microsoft Paint, did a 50% stretch, and now they look normal, making the chances of the human eye recognizing a face much better.

This is my regular stock-up shop and I'm sorry they were hit. However, better images would help... the resolution is okay, but the distortion makes it impossible to judge faces, actual physiques, etc. Not sure what's causing that, but I suspect it's in the setup of the equipment and not any inherent issue.

Additional thought... maybe the props shouldn't have $150 bottles of scotch on open shelves. No one who's buying booze of that grade needs to be able to dash in and grab it...
