Troop C Blotter: MLK Weekend

Police activity for Friday through Monday.

Arrest information is furnished by the state police Troop C barracks in Tolland and does not indicate a conviction. 

Vernon

Jan. 18

Carlos Eduardo Ribeiro, 30, of 109 Bower St., Hartford, was charged with DUI, reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle without a license after a traffic stop near exit 66 westbound on Interstate-84, state police said.

He was arrested at 2:09 a.m. after being clocked traveling at 111 mph, state police said.

Adam Sadanowicz, 33, of 89 Warrenton Ave., Hartford, was charged with DUI and failure to have tail lamps, after a traffic stop in I-84 at 2:30 a.m., state police said. 

He failed a series of field sobriety tests, state police said. 

Mansfield

Jan. 17

At 3:05 p.m., state police responded to a home on Mansfield City Road for a reported burglary in which entry was gained through a side door adjacent to the driveway, according to a report.
 
The house is vacant and currently for sale, state police said. 

Nothing was taken, but anyone with information on the incident can call state police at 860-896-3200, ext. 1324. 



At 9:24 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a home on Puddin Lane to investigate a burglary complaint, state police said.

A resident had come home and noticed her side door had been kicked in, state police said.

A TV and some costume jewelry were taken, state police said. The case is under investigation, state police said.

Jan. 19

At 1:18 a.m. on Middle Turnpike, Sierra Nicole Beers, 20, of Trumbull, was stopped for traveling more than 30 mph more than the posted limit, state police said.

She was charged with speeding and DUI, state police said.



State police are investigating an attempted burglary on David Road, between Jan. 12 and 20.

Ellington

Jan. 17

Peter Robinson, 25, of 56 Oxyoke Dr., Wethersfield, was charged with failure to carry a insurance/registration, failure to carry a license and evading responsibility, state police said.

He was involved in a crash on Cider Mill Road at 3:58 p.m., state police said.

After allegedly leaving the scene, he was stopped by an off-duty trooper on Maple Road, state police said.

He was also charged with possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia, state police said. 

Stafford 

Jan. 17

State police said they are investigating a larceny by am employee at the F.L.Roberts company. 

The business is located at 83 West Stafford Rd., state police said.

Somers

Jan. 17

Richard Chillson, 30, of 8 Grand St., Ellington, was charged with failure to wear a safety belt and DUI at 11:01 a.m. on Main Street, state police said.

A trooper already involved in a traffic stop noticed him pass without his belt on, state police said. The vehicle was towed from the scene, state police said.

At about 6:30 p.m., someone entered several unlocked vehicles in the student parking lot at Somers High School, state police said.

Several backpacks, electronics equipment and jewelry were taken, state police said. The case is under investigation, state police said.

Tolland

At about 1 p.m., state police observed a car near exit 68 on I-84 traveling at 125 mph, a report indicates. 

Bejamin Rowley, 22, of 161 Pumpkin Hill Rd., Ashford, was stopped at exit 70, state police said.

He was charged with DUI and reckless driving, state police said.

Ashford

Jan 21

Troop C is investigating a burglary at The Wooden Spoon Restaurant at 217 Pompey Hollow Rd., state police said. 

The incident occurred between 3:30 and 4 a.m. 

A sliding window on the side of the building was broken, state police said. 
Nothing was taken, state police said. Troop C said the business had been burglarized in the past and anyone with information can call 860-896-3200.
