Troop C Blotter: Week Ending Aug. 29

The latest activity.

Here are the latest cases out of the State Police Troop C barracks. Arrest information is furnished by state police and does not indicate a conviction: 

Tolland

Aug. 22

State police received a call from a Reed Road resident who said he witnessed two while males in his driveway, according to an incident report. The resident chased the men away and a police dog search could not locate them.

State police said anyone with information about the incident can call them at 860-875-8911. 



At 4:43 p.m., state police charged Benjamin Brewer, 27, of Higganum, with failure to respond to a $103 infraction. 

He was arrested on Tolland Stage Road, state police said.

Ellington

Aug. 27

Sometime between 2 and 5:45 a.m., someone forcibly entered the Ellington Depot gas station on Crystal Lake Road by smashing a window, state police said. 
Several loose packs of marlboro and Newport brand cigarettes were stolen, state police said. 

The case is being investigated. 

Somers

Aug. 22

Richard Morrell, 56, was charged with a license/registration violation, driving under the influence, illegally carrying firearms/drugs/alcohol, disorderly conduct, and third-degree assault, state police said. 

He left the scene of as domestic dispute and was located on Four Bridges Road at 7:53 p.m., state police said.

Aug. 23

Troop C is investigating an armed robbery at the Somers Pharmacy, 629 Main Street. 

State police said a white or hispanic male walked into the pharmacy at 4:15 p.m, and demanded prescription medication. He is described at being about 5-foot-10 and 22o pounds and was wearing mostly black -including a mask and his jacked had distinctive white stripes on the collar.

Mansfield 

Aug. 22

State police were dispatched to the Eastbrook Mall parking lot at 4:08 p.m. for a larceny complaint. A woman told troopers that, while shopping, someone stole her dog lady, a black-and-white Chihuahua, from her grandmother's car. 

The dog was wearing a red leash with a pink halter with a snaggletooth at the time of the alleged abduction, state police said. 

The woman told troopers she was not sure if the doors were locked and the case remains under investigation, state police said. 

Aug. 24

At 11:40, while on an underage drinking enforcement action on Hunting Lodge Road, troopers noticed a white male walking on the sidewalk with an open container of natural Ice Beer, according to an incident report. 

The was was being brought back to a cruiser and ran off. Troopers chased him down. 

He was identified as 20-year-old Ryan Cirillo, of Salem, state police said.

He was charged with interfering and illegal alcohol possession, state police said.
