Updated: Troop C Searching for Burglar in Shenipsit Lake Road Area

The suspect attempted to burglarize a home around noon.

Police are still investigating an attempted burglary that took place at 463 Shenipsit Lake Road, according to Troop C.

In the press release, police said that a 20 to 25-year-old male removed a screen from the home's bathroom window when one of the home's residents heard the accused moving around.

The victim saw the suspect on the front porch, and described him as a white male, medium build, with blue jeans, navy blue shirt, navy blue hat, and about 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall. The suspect was seen running down Shenipsit Lake Road, while carrying the screen, police said.

A neighbor saw a white, 2/4 door passenger vehicle in an early 2000's model driving down the road in the same time frame, police report.

Troopers are actively searching for a burglary suspect Monday afternoon, after the suspect attempted to rob a home around noon on Shenipsit Lake Road in Tolland, according to Troop C.

Canine units and aircraft are being used in the search, police said.
