Troop C Weekend Blotter

Arrests from Nov. 15 through 17, 2013.

Arrest information is furnished by the state police Troop C barracks in Tolland and does not indicate a conviction. 

Ellington

Nov. 15

At 4:04 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a home on Crystal Lake Road for a reported burglary in progress, state police said. Witnesses said they saw someone running from the address when the homeowners arrived, state police said.

The getaway car was described as a small royal blue four-door sedan and the case is under investigation, state police said.

At 9:04 p.m., Craig Ostrout, 53, was charged with speeding, disobeying the signal of an officer and driving under the influence, state police said.

Ellington officers observed him traveling at a high rate of speed on Jobs Hill Road during a speed enforcement operation, according to a report. 

Ostrout had to be followed to his driveway at 18 Birch View Dr. by police, a report indicates. 

Somers

Nov. 15

Richard Kinoshita 41, of 345 Woodland St., Manchester, was charged with being a fugitive from justice, state police said. 

He was transported from Osborn Correctional Institution under the authority of a habeas issued by Rockville Superior Court to the courthouse so he could be served, state police said.

Tolland

Nov. 15 

Patrick Joseph Ruel, 18, of 20 Fiske Ave., Stafford, was charged with operating a motor vehicle as a minor with an elevated blood alcohol content, failure to drive in the proper lane and possession of alcohol by a minor.

He was charged after a traffic stop at 3:34 a.m. on Route 195 near Goose Lane, state police said. 

Nov. 16

Jason Colon, 32, of 97 Van Block Ave., Hartford, was charged with DUI and driving the wrong way at 4:10 a.m. on I-84 eastbound near exit 68, state police said.

State police received a report of a wring-way driver on the eastbound side of the highway. A Trooper parked on the westbound side, jumped the center median barrier and successfully deployed strip sticks as the vehicle driven buy Colon approached, according to a report. 

The vehicle stopped before hitting anything, state police said.

Mansfield

Nov. 16

Two Mansfield men were charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny for an incident at Chuck's/Margarita's on Route  32, state police said. 

Ricardo Alverio, 20, of 17A Pollack Rd., and Steven Wright, 47, of 98 Mansfield Hollow Rd., were taken into custody at 8 a.m., state police said. 

Alverio was also charged with violating probation, the sale of a controlled substance, narcotics not kept in the original container, and marijuana possession, state police said.



Harpreet Singh, 21, was charged with DUI and improper parking at 3:47 a.m. on Daleville Road, state police said.

Singh, of 292 Quaker lane, West Hartford, failed a series of field sobriety tests, state police said.

Nov. 17

Lonnie Keniston, 52, of 88 West St., Vernon, was charged with DUI and a lane violation at 11:34 a.m. on Route 195, state police said.

He was stopped after failing to maintain a proper lane, state police said.

At 2:43 a.m., Chtistopher Rogers, 22, was stopped on Route 44  after being observed driving erratically, state police said.
He was charged with seeding, DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane, state police said.

Vernon

Nov. 17

Diem Nguyen, 24, of Cromwell, was charged with Driving to endanger, DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane after a traffic stop at 2:10 a.m. near exit 65 westbound on I-84, state police said.

He failed a series of sobriety tests, state police said.
