Troopers to Enforce Safety, Sobriety in Tolland on Saturday

A spot check and extra patrols have been scheduled.

The Tolland Resident State Trooper's Office and the state police Troop C barracks have scheduled a safety spot check in town for Saturday.

In addition to the spot checks looking for safety violations, troopers will be "saturating" the Troop C coverage area looking for aggressive drivers and those driving under the influence, according to the Resident Trooper's office.

The efforts are part of a commitment on the part of state police to "reduce traffic collisions through preventative enforcement initiatives such as safety spot checks, according to the Resident Trooper's Office.

State police have also renewed their call for drivers to wear seat belts.

Troop C can be reached at 860-896-3200.

The enforcement efforts are part of the State Department of Transportation Comprehensive DUI Enforcement Program.
