Two Brush Fires in Tolland Since Friday

Firefighters have knocked down two separate brush fires in the last 24 hours.

Tolland firefighters have responded to two separate brush fires in town since Friday, according to Fire Chief and Public Safety Director John Littell.

Littell said that the first fire occurred at 340 Crystal Lake Road on Friday evening and most likely started from a camp fire.

On Saturday, firefighters also responded to a brush fire off of Angela Drive, Littell said. He stressed that campfires can ignite brush fires even at night or hours after burning down, especially on windy days.
