Campaign Finance: Formica & Novak 2nd District Contributions

Who donated to the campaigns of Republican Paul Formica and his challenger, Daria Novak, in their race for the 2nd Congressional District nomination? Choose from the dropdown menu to search by candidate, town or amount.

Paul Formica, the Republican nominee for the 2nd Congressional District, has raised $37,081 from April 1 through July 25 of this year, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.

His challenger for the nomination, Daria Novak of Madison, has raised $31,186 from Jan. 1, 2011 through the end July 25, 2012.

The finance information was filed with the FEC on July 15, as required by law. A supplementary pre-primary filing was made on July 25.

Formica entered the race less than a week before the party convention in May. Novak, who was the party's candidate for the seat two years ago but then lost in a primary to Janet Peckinpaugh, decided to primary after she lost the nomination.

The winner of the Aug. 14 primary will face off against incumbent Democrat Joe Courtney of Vernon.

Nearly all of Formica's donations come from his home area of New London County. Novak's donations  cover a wider geographical area, including outside Connecticut.
