Connecticut Asks Residents to Stay Vigilant for 9/11 Anniversary

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection encourages residents to report suspicious activity as the 10th anniversary of 9/11 draws near.

The Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection has issued a press release asking residents to remain alert for suspicious activity as the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches this weekend.

“While there are no specific or credible threats to the state or the nation, with the anniversary approaching, it is important to remain vigilant and be on the lookout for out-of-the-ordinary behavior or circumstances,” said Commissioner Reuben F. Bradford in the release.

Bradford asks residents to notify police officers or public transportation employees if they notice anything out of the ordinary. There is also a 24-hour homeland security tip line available at 1-866-HLS-TIPS.

“I want all of our residents to know that they are a vital part of our team and will continue to play an integral role. If you see something, then by all means, say something,” Bradford added.

The release is the latest from the “If You See Something, Say Something Campaign,” created in 2010, which encourages state residents to report suspicious activities in public places.
