Five Things You Need to Know About Tolland's Local Elections

1. Be sure to check out our Elections 2011 tab at the top of the Tolland Patch Web site for complete election coverage. Candidate profiles will be posted there starting later today with town council candidates, followed by Board of Education candidates on Wednesday. Keep a look out for the Tolland Town Council Candidate article later this morning.

2. Complete Tolland election information can also be found at the Tolland Elections Web site. According to the Web site, Tolland's two polling stations will be located at:

• Hicks Gym in  at 21 Tolland Green
•  at 674 Tolland Stage Road

The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, according to the Tolland Elections site.

3. Don't know your voting district? Check out the Tolland Elections Web site for a complete breakdown by street, or use the handy Street Look up tool to determine where you need to be to vote on November 8. 

4. Voting deadlines! The last day to register to vote by mail, is today October 25. Registration must be postmarked by this date, according to the Web site. Be sure to download the mail-in registration card off of the Tolland Elections Web site and get it to the mailbox, made out to this address:

To register in person, get to the Registrar of Voters Office by 8 p.m. on November 1. Those who turn 18, become a U.S. citizen or move to town after November 1 may register at the office from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on November 7, according to the Web site. Absentee ballots are due by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
