Party and Position Running For: Republican Planning & Zoning Commission Candidate

Family Information: Recently widowed, mother of three Eagle Scouts, all married, five grandchildren

Previous Political Experience: 20 years as P&ZC Commissioner, Tolland Republican Town Committee Treasurer

Other Experience: Currently: Ways and Means, Hospitality:Historical Society Board, Tolland's representative :Capitol Region Council of Government, Regional Planning Commission. Previously: church, Boy Scout, and school committees

Why are you running for office?

I am running for PZC because I have enjoyed seeing Tolland unfold as it has developed. I want to keep the  "character" of Tolland, while creating the right atmosphere for future growth, especially in the commercial zones.There is more work to be done. I also like to see Tolland's place in the Hartford region and how other towns are handling growth and development. Tolland is in a unique area--"rural" and yet 15 minutes from the capitol city.

How will you work with residents to ensure that their issues are addressed as the Tolland Village Area moves forward?

I hope to work with them, hear their concerns-but hope that they would come forward with fresh ideas for our most important and vulnerable commercial area of town. Sometimes, the residents know a lot about a piece of property that we need to know as commissioners.
