P&ZC Approves Pharmacy Drive-Through Regulations

Drive-through pharmacies will now be allowed in the Gateway Design District, which encompasses the area south of I-84 to Rhodes Road and Goose Lane.

The Planning & Zoning Commission approved regulations allowing drive-through pharmacies in the Gateway Design District at Monday night's meeting.

The Gateway Design District stretches from just south of I-84 to the intersection of Rhodes Road and Goose Lane.

Prior to last night's meeting, drive-through pharmacies were only allowed in the Tolland Village Area regulations.

Commission member John Hughes said that he wished more residents had attended the public hearing to voice their opinions on what can be a controversial topic in town.

The new regulations can be found in the P&ZC meeting packet on the town's website.

I am hapy to hear this was approved. Thank you! And as for having more Tolland residents present for public discussion, I suggest having the town send an email blast on the day of important meetings where elected officials would like to see more public discussion would bring in more residents. I had planned to attend last night but plans for child care fell through. I voiced my support via the Patch poll and telling Dave Barrow on the P&Z board that I am a supporter of drive - thrus in this town.

I am happy to hear this was approved. Thank you! And as for having more Tolland residents present for public discussion, I suggest the town send an email blast via tolland.org on the day of meetings inviting residents to attend for public discussion. Perhaps that would encourage/remind more folks to attend. I had planned to attend last night but plans for child care fell through. I voiced my support via the Patch poll and telling a P&Z official, Dave Barrow, that I am a supporter of drive - thrus in this town.
