P&ZC Approves Zoning Regulation Changes

The commission revised Tolland's Neighborhood Commercial Zone regulations and voted to support a project to install football field lights at THS.

The Planning & Zoning Commission approved revisions to Neighborhood Commerical Zone regulations at Monday's meeting, with several amendments .

The approved changes include:

  • Language allowing an average of 6 units per building for multi-housing developments, with a maximum of 8 units in any one building
  • Language that allows the P&ZC to ask for conservation easements on open space property 
  • The adjustment of the NCZ zoning line to accommodate a property owner's preference to remain in the commercial zone

At least  has been presented to the commission, although no formal application has been made.

The commission also formally supported a proposed capital project to install lights at the football field. The town council will hold a public hearing on that capital project, as well as a number of other projects, at its meeting on July 10.
