The party is endorsing many newcomers, with only a few incumbents returning for the election.

The Republican Town Committee released its election slate on Thursday, endorsing only a few incumbents and many newcomers.

According to Republican Town Committee Chairperson Laura Roberts, the party is mixing experience with the energy and enthusiasm of new candidates.

The party has no returning incumbents on the Town Council, but has endorsed Jack Scavone from the Planning and Zoning Commission. Experienced party members such as Kathleen Bach and Richard Knight, as well as current council members April Teveris and Dale Clayton, considered running but later withdrew from consideration.

Roberts had no comment on the withdrawals.
