School Board Hands Over Parker School

Superintendent William Guzman also gave updates on enrichment programs at Birch Grove Primary School and Tolland Intermediate School.

The school board voted to turn Parker Memorial School over to the town at Wednesday night's meeting, a move that will help the town pursue funding for a at the site.

The board discussed the necessity of rerouting school buses to prevent congestion between and the proposed senior housing. Superintendent William Guzman said that town staff have drawn preliminary plans to address the issue, which will be studied further.

Guzman also announced that the district's Strategic School Profiles and the mid-year status of the District Improvement Goals have both been released.

He also gave an update on enrichment programs at and . The first sessions of the programs had 30 students and 23 students enrolled, respectively. Guzman said that 30 students is the enrollment capacity per program. 

The next regular school board meeting is scheduled for March 14 at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
