School Board Meeting to Include Pay-to-Play Presentation

The presentation will detail how money is spent in four to six different sports programs.

Parents and residents with questions concerning pay-to-play programs in Tolland schools may get some answers at Tuesday's school board meeting being held at 7:30 p.m. at Tolland High School.

Superintendent William Guzman said that a board member will present a history of the pay-to-play program, explaining why the athletic fees have been raised to their current rates. In the proposed budget, high school athletes would pay $325 per sport, while rates at the middle school would be $225 a sport.

The presentation will also include an accounting of four to six different sports programs, showing how the fees are allocated per sport.
