The state is handing over approximately 3.2 acres surrounding I-84 and Route 195 for the town to use for economic development.

The state is giving about 3.2 acres of land to the town of Tolland to further the Tolland Village Area, according to a press release from State Rep. Bryan Hurlburt (D).

The Department of Transportation land, comprising of a commuter lot and property near I-84 and Route 195, has to be used for the town's economic development, according to the land transfer, which is included in a bill recently approved by the House of Representatives.

“This is a key tract needed for the success of the Village Area development and will serve as a welcome mat to our community,”  Hurlburt said in the press release. He has worked for two years to secure the land conveyance. “I’m glad this has come to fruition and hope it helps kick-start the project as it moves forward.”
