Town Makes a Profit on Hunter Rd. Land in Auction

The sale was on March 19.

The town recently conducted a tax sale of properties with delinquent taxes.

Adam Cohen, a lawyer with the firm of Pullman & Comley, presided over the sale.
The minimum bid generally represents all taxes owed and fees associated with getting the properties off the tax rolls.

The results of the sale were as follows, according to Town Manager Steven Werbner:

• 423 Hunter Rd - There was competitive bidding on the property. The winning bid was $11,000. That is $2,558.97 over the  minimum bid of $8,441.03. The Town will receive funds to pay all delinquent and jeopardy taxes, interest and lien  fees. Cohen’s fees and expenses will be paid in full and the excess will be held in a separate interest-bearing account until the six month redemption period has passed. At that time the excess funds will be turned over to  the court for distribution.
