Wanted: Conservation Commission Members

The town has issued the following call for Conservation Commission candidates: 

Are you interested in being on the Conservation Commission to promote the efficient use of energy and natural resources, which is in the best interest of the protection and enhancement of the Town’s environment, economy as well as the health of the current and future generation of residents?

If so you are invited to submit a letter of interest and/or resume highlighting your skill set and stating your level of interest and ability to attend meetings Send to: Town Manager’s Office, 21 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT 06084; or via e-mail to the Town Manager, Steven Werbner at: swerbner@tolland.org. The Commission currently seeks candidates for alternate positions.

The Conservation Commission was created on Aug. 25, 1998 by resolution 03-40 with an advisory function on open space issues. Its current mission includes research, maintaining an inventory of open space areas, development of conservation education programs, evaluation and proposal for open space acquisition, and oversight of the Town’s Conservation areas.

The Conservation Commission meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers on the sixth floor of the Hicks Memorial Municipal Center at 21 Tolland Green.
