Nine Tolland Properties May Go on the Auction Block

These properties in Tolland are up for auction for nonpayment of local taxes or fees, according to cttaxsales.com.

Six properties in Tolland are scheduled to be auctioned off June 3 for nonpayment of taxes or fees, and three more are due for auctions at some point, according to a website that tracks certain Connecticut auctions.

The list comes from the cttaxsales.com Web page, which lists these sales by municipalities across the state.

"If you are an owner or encumbrancer of one of these properties and wish to pay the amounts owed in order to prevent the auction, please call 203-330-2230 for a payoff statement," the website states. The Web page also has other information useful for those who may want to bid on the properties.

The website warns that information listed is from municipal records and may not always be accurate. People who want to bid on these properties should get advice from their own lawyers.

These are the Tolland properties scheduled for auction on June 3:

These properties in Tolland are due for tax sales at some point in the future after the original auction was postponed "due to lack of bidders on the original sale dates," according to the website:

Property owners have until the auction to pay the delinquent tax bills, otherwise the properties will be sold to the highest bidder as-is.

Bidders must present $5,000 in cash or certified check per property, payable to “Pullman & Comley, Trustee” on the day of the sale.

The winning bidder must pay the balance of the sale price within 5 days or forfeit that deposit.

If the properties sell at auction, their current owners will have the “right of redemption” for 6 months, allowing them to buy back the land for the price paid at auction (plus costs and interest at 18 percent). If not redeemed, the winning bidder will take possession of the property “free and clear.”
