Questions for Election Day

The 2 questions you need to ask yourself on election day are these: 1) Do I reelect people who put their heart and soul into spending my tax dollars wisely and 2) are they getting the job done?

The Tolland Board of Education over the last four years has invested your tax dollars and ours very wisely in our future - the children of this community. The State of Connecticut statutes are very clear on the obligations of the Board - we must prepare all children in Tolland for the future. We have presented to the town budgets that follow the statutes and done it as economically and efficiently as is possible.

How? We ask everything. We look every where to save money. We negotiate respectfully with the unions attempting to save every penny possible. We saved over $220,000 in health insurance just this year. We send to the Town Council the smallest budget possible to accomplish the job. We are taxpayers also, so we dread any increases, but our job is to tell you honestly what it cost to run our school system. We don't make up a budget just to get it passed. We build a budget to educate the children and we have done this better than any Board before. Please come out and vote and let your voice be heard on Tuesday.
