Tolland Boy Scouts have all the attributes of great citizens with their giving of time, energy and caring associated with the "Neighbor helping Neighbor" program that helps Senior Citizens.

HELPING SENIOR CITIZENS WITH BRUSH REMOVAL

TOLLAND BOY SCOUTS TO THE RESCUE!

The Boy Scouts of Tolland lead in lending a helping hand. Before others came forward, Andy Powell and the Boy Scouts of Tolland were ready to serve. Andy Powell and the Boy Scouts of Tolland have set the standard. There are Tolland citizens volunteers who have joined the project to help senior citizens clear their properties. Steve Werbner, town manager has taken on the responsibility of organizing a “Neighbor helping Neighbor” group that will consist of Tolland residents. This group will have the primary task of helping seniors and individuals who are not able to clear the branches off their property.

In addition to Tolland Boy Scouts, the Knights of Columbus are organizing groups to help our senior citizens. Rockville Bank has been contacted for funds to provide the volunteers with lunch at the high school. If any citizens have a pickup truck that can be used for hauling brush, it would be greatly appreciated. At this point in time, more volunteers are needed for this project. A great turn out can result in help for Tolland senior citizens.

Tolland is the 37th best small town to live in; if we work together we can make it NUMBER 1.
